A Collection of Memos
Feb. 13th, 2014 08:57 pm Approximately three years after Yuuma is locked up--the events of 'Origins', in other words--the numbers hunter Haruto finally did return from the Barian World, albeit entirely unaware that so much time had passed. What he entered however was Heartland's 'Fog World', as influenced by Astral's rampant chaos, and more importantly by the enraged power of 'Tachyon Dragon' which had been powering most of the technology in Heartland Tower.
On his trek to discover just what was going on, he would end up travelling through the very hospital which Yuuma was locked up in--and while he never saw Yuuma in person, he found the notes and journals which Yuuma had scattered through the place in its Other World, and even heard his voice at some time...
Among those memos, the notes worth looking at are:

'Yuya's Day Cards
Date: 2014-02-14 04:59 am (UTC)Eventually, Haruto would find a number of the ones that had been lost on the rooftop of the hospital. Their date is unknown, as instead of the day, Yuuma appeared to number them in the same manner as the cards he once collected.

Date: 2014-02-14 06:01 am (UTC)Raining.
Stared out the window all day.
Peaceful here--too quiet.
I want to see you, but they're watching.
No mirror today.
Number 10
Still raining.
Talked with the doctor. He's new.
They're always new. He says he
wants to 'help' but is that true?
He says I'm strong but I'm not.
Not everyone is strong
you made me strong
Number 11
Raining again.
I got green pills, so
I was green today. Doctor
says it's supposed to
make me better.
What is better? Is it me?
What is 'me'?
Do you remember?
Number 12
I want it to stop raining.
Doctor says I cause trouble,
so I can't go outside. I
want to go outside but not
when it's raining. They'll stop
watching when it stops raining.
I can see you if it stops raining.
But what if it doesn't stop raining?
Will it stop raining?
Stop it, Astral!
I want to see you!
It's too hard like this...
It's too hard...
Number 13
It stopped raining so the doctor
will leave soon. He's a nice
doctor I like him he says
he will duel me if I behave.
It isn't the same without you
but I miss dueling.
If we duel we can't forget
right?
I wish I could duel myself.
The doctor is leaving--I'm
coming!
I'm---
'She is a Ghost'
Date: 2014-02-14 05:01 am (UTC)This resemblance could explain the fondness Yuuma expresses in the poem--Ena is the one who assisted him in the Astral World after all, and his mind may have associated this and her place of residence with heavenly forces.

Date: 2014-02-14 05:58 am (UTC)I can see the Lady of the Door
they cannot walk along her shining Bridge
of Water they fall from the weight
of their poisoned souls
Like broken crystal dolls,
their crimes she shatters them
sin and sinner alike she saves
me she is an angel
Doctor's Note
Date: 2014-02-14 05:02 am (UTC)Having been in charge of Yuuma's care only since recently, he is unaware of just how much of Yuuma's mental deterioration was caused by the hospital environment itself--he appears to care quite genuinely for the boy, and despite the need for professionalism, sees him as something of a younger brother.
Yuuma appears to improve slightly under Gauche's eye, but not much--his mentality is considerably scarred, requiring years of work.
He noted the following tendencies in Yuuma's behavior--first was that his obsession with mirrors was not one of narcissism, but instead the belief of them being portals to another alternate realm, wherein a close friend resided. He also noted that this obsession could be a dangerous trigger to violence, along with certain interactions with other people (Though he has yet pin down what it is about these interactions that triggers him). He's also discovered that the boy has a great love for dueling--though his mental state leaves his skills to be questioned.

Date: 2014-02-14 05:52 am (UTC)Message to Astral
Date: 2014-02-14 05:02 am (UTC)It, along with 'Tern the Numbers', appeared to have been written in blood. Unlike Tern the Numbers however, the grammatical mistake appears to have been deliberate, as a hint to the number of locks needed to unlock the box in Astral's riddle.

It's my destiny!'
The Mayer's Key
Date: 2014-02-14 05:07 am (UTC)It marks a clear example of Yuuma's associative imagination; the train of thought goes fish -> shark -> Shark, from when the key was stolen.
The key in question was tossed into the fountain at Shark's former home, which could explain why he felt the need to state that he was 'not a fish (thief)'.
Following his capture, he was deprived of his mirrors, given one only after his current doctor appealed in his name and offered the compromise of controlling anything reflective outside the boy's room--this successfully locked Yuuma from leaving the Otherworld of the Hospital, as the area accessible from his personal mirror did not reach any form of exit.

Carbon Imprint Note
Date: 2014-02-14 05:08 am (UTC)It is thought that the 'demon' Yuuma mentions refers to Don Thousand, or perhaps the 'Other World' itself. Another interpretation could be that he has seen the child 'Black Mist' in the Other World, and is instead forming vague thoughts centered on his status as a number.
More likely, the riddle's demon however is none other than 'Vector', whom Yuuma's mind appears to have currently separated from 'Shingetsu'.
The numbers in question represent 'hope' and the 'future', it seems.

Tern the Numbers
Date: 2014-02-14 05:15 am (UTC)Rather notably, the numbers above it are a somewhat squashed '1' and '7' (resembling katakana) and '9 9'
It is thought that where Yuuma intended to write 'turn', he was referring to the Numbers cards and their nature as allied forces.
